About Greg Smith

I’m Greg Smith, I have had the honour of having served as the Conservative Member of Parliament for the Buckingham constituency for 4 and a half years, and I am now seeking a second term in the House of Commons, representing the newly formed seat of Mid Buckinghamshire following the boundary changes.

I feel incredibly fortunate to call the village of Chearsley my home, where I live with my wonderful young family; my 7 year old son Jacob, 4 year old Charlie, and 2 year old Rupert.

Before being elected to Parliament in the General Election on 12th December 2019, I worked in print, design, and marketing, serving clients across the manufacturing, medical technology, and charity sectors.

Throughout my career, I have prided myself on a record of getting things done, a principle that continues to guide my work.

Locally, I am deeply committed to protecting our incredible countryside. I have been a vocal opponent of the environmentally destructive and costly HS2 railway project and am proud to have successfully campaigned for the scrapping of the Oxford-Cambridge Expressway.

While I understand the need for more housing in the UK, I firmly believe that we should prioritise developing brownfield sites in towns and cities rather than encroaching on our beautiful countryside.

As a father, I know first hand that the cost of childcare can be a real struggle for parents and can become a barrier to work. Too many parents are held back from returning to the workplace due to these costs. That’s why I’m so pleased that our Conservative Government has delivered the largest ever expansion of free childcare. Every child deserves the opportunity to achieve their full potential, and I will continue to work tirelessly to make that a reality.

I have a deep love for the British countryside and a strong commitment to supporting the rural way of life and our farmers - I try to contribute wherever I can on my wife's family farm. Additionally, as a lifelong McLaren supporter, I relish watching Formula 1 and take great pride in the fact that my former Buckingham constituency was home to roughly half of the Silverstone track.

I am here to serve you and am always eager to hear from you.

Thank you for taking the time to learn a bit more about me.
