Having spent much of the earlier part of the day alongside campaigners, parish councillors and Long Crendon Councillor Clive Harriss at the Buckinghamshire Council Offices in Aylesbury, speaking against the industrialisation of the countryside and severe road safety risks the Hornage Anaerobic Digester proposals would have brought about — I am delighted to say that working together we have defeated it! Councillors rejected the plans, a great day for common sense and protecting our Buckinghamshire countryside.
I want to really thank everyone who has worked so hard to campaign against this crazy proposal and make the case against — too many local heroes to name, but each playing a vital part in this victory. Over four years I have been pleased to work alongside so many committed local people to overturn what would have been a disaster for our area. I hope this is now an end to it, but if any appeals are forthcoming, we will fight to protect Buckinghamshire fully and robustly.
