This afternoon, I met with UKHospitality to discuss the damage Labour’s proposed “Holiday Tax” could inflict on the UK’s tourism sector. At a time when businesses are already under pressure from rising costs and taxation, increasing the cost of visiting the UK risks deterring international visitors, reducing spending across hotels, restaurants and attractions, and ultimately hitting jobs across the wider visitor economy.
It was good to meet with Kate Nicholls, Chair of UKHospitality, to discuss how I can support the campaign to stop the Holiday Tax and back Britain’s tourism industry.
