Save Mid Buckinghamshire Fire Services

Despite the Conservatives running Buckinghamshire Council and Labour running Milton Keynes, a perverse quirk of the system has led to the Liberal Democrats leading our Fire Authority, propped up by fellow left wing Councillors from Labour and the Independents.

In just a few months of taking control, the Liberal Democrat Chaired Fire Authority has announced plans to consult on closing Great Missenden Fire Station, Stokenchurch Fire Station and removing Haddenham’s only fire engine.

Under their plans nearly a third of Buckinghamshire fire engines would be cut.  This is a dangerous and entirely unnecessary plan that Greg Smith MP and local Conservatives are fighting vigorously.

There is no case for these cuts. The previous Conservative-run Fire Authority rejected these proposals. Indeed, under the Conservatives, Bucks had its highest number of firefighters since 2013. The fact Liberal Democrats, Labour and Independent Councillors are pushing ahead with this shows how weak and out of touch they are with the needs of our area.

Please help the fight against closing Great Missenden Fire, Stokenchurch Fire Station and removing Haddenham's only Fire Engine by signing Greg Smith MP and your local Conservatives petition by clicking here.
