Questioning the Energy Secretary on Taking Agricultural Land for Inefficient Renewable Solutions

The Energy Secretary isn’t listening. His tunnel visioned dogma is leading to farmland being trashed, being taken out of food production for inefficient renewable solutions. The proper answer is nuclear, but Miliband ploughs on with solar, wind, battery storage that the Government’s own land framework admits will take 9% of agricultural land out of food production for environmental schemes. This is cumulative and it is plainly bonkers for government to look at just the solar land take (which is bad enough). Miliband may have scoffed back, but when even EDF are saying new projects should be paused - Labour really are on the wrong side of history on this.
