This afternoon, I questioned the Borders and Asylum Minister on the crazy idea to put an asylum centre at MOD Bicester, just over the Oxfordshire border and close to so many Mid Buckinghamshire villages. I am totally opposed to this site, it is totally inappropriate and the government instead should be removing all legal barriers to immediately deport illegal migrants that have come here via small boat. But, given we know the way this government seems to be going, I challenged the Minister to be clear on impact on local services - asking that no pressure will be put on local GPs if this site goes ahead.
