Today I was pleased to arrange for the HS2 Chief Executive Mark Wild to return to Mid Buckinghamshire, for meetings in Wendover and Calvert Green.
Following his first visit to Wendover last year, many of the points raised with him by the Wendover HS2 Mitigation Action Group, Wendover Parish Council and others had been actioned, with further discussion on how to deliver mitigation for St Mary’s Church, future landscaping and noise.
In Calvert Green, Mr Wild met with representatives from Steeple Claydon, Calvert Green and Twyford - where much of the discussion focused on the damage to our roads, noise, environmental concerns around dust and construction timetables.
Mark Wild has committed to returning again in six months with further updates on issues raised with him. I will continue to push for Mid Buckinghamshire to get the mitigation we need from this railway we did not want in the first place.
It is important community representatives had the chance to put our case directly to the very top of HS2 Ltd - and I will keep the pressure up on behalf of all communities affected by HS2.
