This week in the House of Commons Greg has challenged the Minister of State for Digital over the Equinox offer agreed between Ofcom and Openreach. Greg raised the issue of the distorting effect on the rollout of broadband in the constituency, particularly in rural communities.
In many rural areas alternative network providers are leading the way in offering full fibre connections and at a far faster pace than legacy operators. Areas that have been ignored in the past are now benefiting from high speed internet today thanks to private investment.
Greg said, “I want all my constituents to have access to the best internet provision available. Private investment should be encouraged not hindered; to enable a faster and more comprehensive rollout. I will continue to push Ministerial colleagues on this matter.”
