Challenging the Government on the Cost of Digital ID

With another u-turn from the Government this week, ploughing on with digital ID but dropping the compulsory element, there were chaotic scenes in the House of Commons where the Minister went round and round in circles trying to defend the indefensible. He said digital ID would not be compulsory, but digital employment checks would be! Then he could not even give a ballpark on what the whole thing would cost taxpayers’. Utterly farcical.
