A huge privilege to attend the Annual Reception at RAF High Wycombe this evening. Huge thank you to the Station Commander, Wing Commander Michael Adamson and the whole team for such a warm welcome and impressive display.
So proud that Mid Buckinghamshire is home to the headquarters of the RAF at RAF High Wycombe in Walters Ash as well as RAF Halton.
With defence readiness so topical at the moment, it is absolutely vital the government finds the proper funding for our Armed Forces - and a Defence Investment Plan that actually ensures we are ready for the conflicts of the future not the wars of the past. The first duty of government is to defend the Realm - and it is clear from both John Healey and Al Carns statements in the Commons this afternoon that I was present for, is that the current Government is delivering on neither. That’s not party political, it is our national interest to see this put right.
