Really humbled to raise the flag after a minutes silence to mark the 80th anniversary of VE Day in Longwick this afternoon. A wonderful event, bringing the whole community together to mark this important anniversary.
We gathered both in celebration of 80 years since Victory in Europe and also in commemoration and gratitude to everyone from that brave generation who sacrificed so much for our freedom, most of all those who lost their lives in doing so.
