Rising to our environmental challenges

Under the Conservatives, the UK became the first advanced economy to legislate for Net Zero emissions by 2050.

Emissions have reduced by a quarter since 2010 and renewables boosted to record levels.

Conservatives have banned plastic microbeads and straws to clean up our oceans and ended fracking in the UK.

Locally, our councils have a strong record, eg 60% of the Kingsbrook development is green infrastructure, including ponds, parks, meadows, orchards, and a nature reserve. In recent years they have also planted over 900 trees.

There remains, however, so much more to do and Greg is absolutely committed to ensuring the next Government does everything possible to save our planet.
